@ Katelyn:

sorry....didn't realize the private message feature was muted for newly joined members.

maybe Schoppy or one of the mods here can explain it and the time required to qualify for sending PMs. I probably missed the FAQ rule on it, however.

Yes, cloth tends to hold favor among more than I expected, too. It has a time and place for wear and only our experiences over time can determine
when it's time for cloth or NOT.

Key to cloth diaper use is good overpants to seal the moisture. Fortunately, I've found sources for good quality vinyl (plastic), PUL, Rubber and butyl
for this purpose. Even bloomers for ultimate protection when needed.

I do like your earlier statement and find it so VERY true:

"I’m also a dedicated reusables fan, and found that where it comes to finding good solutions for incontinence it pays to question everything and figure things out yourself. I don’t know any other area in life where assumptions are challenged so rarely, being burdened by shame and taboo as they are."

I, too, question everything to a fault and then set on my own course of action...seeking, asking, reading, observing and testing! Here we can set aside
that self-defeating feelings shame and taboo and put all cards on the table. It's 'straight-up' discussions all the way, honest and candid. A liberating,
enlightened feeling results within us, or at least for me. Then, we are able to stand tall and press on with vigor!

Thanks!

The above sets off my imagination :P ... I almost see you declare this, seated on a horse, silhouetted against a dramatic sky, sword drawn, ready to charge! (like King Théoden in the Return of the Ring movie, when they charge Minas Tirith)

But yes, you are absolutely right. There are so many ways in which one can deal with issues in life, and I am time and again astounded how much difference the approach can make. It's even with how news items are presented: I feel that it is possible to present the exact same facts in such different ways, that you can practically manipulate the reader's reaction with it. It's uncanny.
Therefore I think that it when we talk about these things in a liberating way, it will also liberate us.

@ Katelyn,

Well...not a horse, exactly. My 'steed' is a Harley Motorcycle...and I'm poised to ride off into the sunset on the open road.

I'm feeling 'liberated' as always...as a key to our ability to thrive. Yes, words can and do inspire us and fire up the imagination.

Hi Katelyn,
Good to see you on this forum. I'm too a member of the Dutch forum but learn the most on this forum. I mix between cotton and disposables during the night. When traveling for work I use disposables. At home it's a mix. When there's a lot of washing to be done for the kids I tend to use disposables as I don't want to put to much burden on my wife at that moment. In situations when I have issues with my skin i tend to use cotton. It's funny to read that you stick with plastic pants. I tried all kinds of material and ended up with plastic pants as well. For me they are the most reliable ones. I buy my plastic pants when I'm Canada or the US for work. I find the European plastic pants very well designed but don't give me the protection I'm looking for. I like the more bulky plastic pants giving you the right protection. At the end you don't want to leak during the night. If you can share some good vendors of plastic pants please let me know, this is for me still the most critical point.
Cheers Bob

I could probably chime in on the PM limits. Without it, any hater could sign up and spam people's inboxes with just about anything. And it will probably take a day or two to get someone to shut them down. By making sure they post to a few topics first, you also make sure they are at least somewhat reputable.

Well, that's one reason any ways.
