Yes Patrick my parents are used to it and I am fine as I know I need help really embarrassing at times care aid will help mum and dad out for sure

Hi, I'm disabled too, from a spinal injury and chronic pain condition. I've had to have my mum change me a few times when I've been unable, and my partner has had to do it too, a fair few times this winter. Luckily he just sees my disabilities as part of me, and just gets on with it

I also need help changing. It helps a lot for it to be someone you trust I've found....but not necessarily a family member. At the moment I have carers from an agency and am on edge about the whole thing. I hate being cleaned after a bowel accident OR using the bedpan. I am hoping that I will win my fight with social services soon and hopefully be able to hire and employ people myself. I always feel better doing that as I can find the best person for the job instead of having people who I wouldn't usually associate with and have low skill set and low English level meaning that they don't always understand my boundaries....although at least this set isn't careless.
