Porkchop, that was good!
Actually, all you need to be really concerned about is any leakage before you get into the pool and after you get out. While you are in the water it really does not matter.

I think the color change dye in the pool is an urban legend.
The urea excreted in sweat alone would probably have the whole pool blue, even without anyone peeing.

That "depends" (sorry ... couldn't resist). I'm only urinary incontinent. The only time I don't use a swim diaper is if I am going directly from a changing room into the pool. Once I'm wet from the swimming activity, then "it just doesn't matter".
However, if it will be "a while" before I get in the water or if there are periods of being in and out of the water where I might be dry everywhere else except "down there", then I will use a swim diaper. My goal is to keep from showing that I am spotting/wetting before I am immersed in wetness.
I hope this makes sense and helps!

Thanks, that made perfect sense!!

Do we need a special post to talk about the who/what/which of swim diapers or might it be discussed in this post? Don't wanna rock the boat, ya ken?

That might be worthwhile ... I'll bet there's a lot of good wisdom and experience out there on swim diapers. Do you wish to start one in the appropriate forum?

Guys, re the individual swim diapers, for swim diapers fit, fit, and fit are even more critical than it is for normal disposable diapers. That is true both of the reusable SoSecure swim diaper and the disposable swim diapers.
If you have a bowel accident you must leave the water immediately regardless of what you have on.
If you are only bladder incontinent what happens in the water will not much matter.

For bladder incontinence the strategy is to immediately enter the water and wet your swimsuit so that any small leaks will not show. If you think that there is any possibility that you might flood the swim diaper when exiting the pool, plan to make a mad rush to the changing room.
