It's a fine line between "loose", "snug", "tight", & "overtight". It's a matter of trial and error in order to find what works for you, your body type, and the diaper you are using. And for those moments when I want "extra-assurance", then a water-proof diaper will do; for example, a Gary PUL cover.

In time, you'll find the right combination, method, product, etc. Hang in there!

And if you haven't read it, read both the diaper primer and JD's White Paper. They both have sections on positioning, tightening, covers, etc.

ILuvLA,

I am slowly working my way through the primer on this site, then I will tackle JDs. Thanks for reminding me to get on that! :)

Schoppy,
I didn't realize you had a link to all the diaper suppliers- its fabulous resource! I have come across many of them in my search though.
I would like to add in jdcsupplies.com to the list. It is listed in JD diaper introduction and they have a good selection of creams and the best price for molicare/medline products.

It is also very helpful if we could have a 'supplier/merchant' review section on this site as well as product review where we can share our experiences and rate products we've tried. That would greatly help everyone and newcomers especially

Porkchop,
I guess one of the male problems is always what to do with em bits.... A good fitting diaper is very helpful. You need to consider the width of the diaper in the front and the 'crotch' area. And you must also consider the length of the diaper. As I gained weight, I noted that the medium diapers don't fit as well and often put pressure on my legs and manparts. But after switching to large, things definitely feel better down there.
Wetdad's suggestion is also helpful- basically making a 'bowl' shape to better fit the genitals and perineal area- this supposedly also helps absorbency.

KDLSTAR,

I recently tried that, along with not over tightening it and it has worked wonders.
