mattress cover leaks

I have used a washable matress on top of the matress protection the last year. It has been a lot more comfortable, a lot less sweaty, and if i have a severe leak, the absorbancy is tripled. It would also protect against cat claws. I love cats, but i see the challenge about them making holes. And it is so difficult being angry at them. They are usually too cute..
I wish i could have a cat, as my best memories all include my grandmothers cat.
