Re: New house brand diaper from Northshore

Puffy,

Thanks for expressing interest in the NorthShore briefs in Canada. I agree the costs are very high to ship to Canada from here in Chicago. We are open to selling these to other Canadian websites. They will only want to bring in the NorthShore line if customers request it of them so please let any reliable Canadian sites know of your interest. In the meantime, we do have many customers that have us ship up to the US/Canada border to a forwarding company of their choice who can provide cheaper shipping to Canada. We may also add these to Amazon warehouses in Canada early next year.

Sincerely,
Adam

There are a few things I wanted to comment here.

1. Rope thanks for the comments to Adam about what is allowed here and what is not. I think it is a good thing to have Adam on this forum telling us the exact specifics and why's of how this diaper is made. I quite appreciate his input here. I wouldn't mind having other representatives and owners on here to ask and answer questions like these.

2. On the cost issue, I found these to be less expensive than the Seni Quatro and the dry 24/7 which I wear right now. They are a bit more expensive than Gary's A+ at the case price level. But, if they are better and more discrete than the A+ then they may be worth that extra cost.

3. Adam, thank you for taking the time to interact with us here and give us the details of these new diapers. It is beneficial for us to be able to have straigh forward communication with diaper manufactuers such as yourself. And as I mentioned above I would like to see more interaction and communication.

And, since I had never personally ordered from North Shore I was not one of the lucky few to receive samples when these came out. Any chance of correcting that Adam?

No problem. I'm going to try and monitor the other threads and answer other product questions that come up. I'm still figuring out what is the best way to stay on top of things around here...

So I got my samples of these, Thanks Adam. Your staff is wonderful. And can you tell me, I think the AirSupreme feels a bit bulkier than the Supreme does. And the plastic backing of the surpreme is very soft like and quiet. More quiet I think than the Tena slip maxi. Being quiet like that it is very discrete. So much so that if the cost is good I may switch to the Supreme from the Seni Quatro I've been using.

The sizing is good for the size that I wear and it fits well. The leak guards are good and I like that they came out with the double tape for the plastic backed. The cloth backed has a single taping system which is more than adequate. I never understood having a double taping system on a cloth backed diaper in the first place. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I didn't get to test the AirSupreme as much as I did the Supreme. I wore the Supreme to my evening job and had one good wetting there then one as I was driving home. I was going to change before I went to bed but didn't get to do that. The diaper then held up overnight and I don't know if I had any wettings throught the night that I didn't wake up for. I do know that I wet again when I did get up and during my normal morning routine. Now that is a good number of wettings that happened there and the Supreme held it all very well. I had minimal leaking. And when I took the diaper off I did notice that it did wick well towards the back of the diaper. So overall, I like the Supreme and the jury is still out on the AirSupreme as more testing is needed there for me. And I want to try wearing the Supreme to my day job to see how discrete it is under business attire.

I'm glad the Supreme is working out well. The AirSupreme is not actually any bulkier as the absorbent core is identical to the Supreme. It's always possible for slight manufacturing variances among the lots and in packgaing, but usually the variances are not noticeable.

Also, the tapes on the AirSupreme are a hard-to-find combo tape that has alternating strips of micro-velcro hooks and adhesive. We found the alternating strips gives the best combination of grip and refastenability...quite a bit better than one big patch of velcro and one patch of adhesive that many others use.

Adam,

Thank you for taking time to answer questions and provide information. I currently use the Dry 24/7 diaper with one of your XL Booster pads and never have a leak at night. I have been very satisfied with your boosters and may try the diaper the next time I order supplies.

I received my sample yesterday and plan on trying them today. I'll report later on my thoughts.

I do have a question for Adam that I thought of where he may be suited to anaswer. Adam, with the trend that seems to be taking place between cloth like vs. plastic backing, do you foresee everything someday soon going to all cloth like backing? To the best of what I have experienced, all baby diaper have made this switch. Will adult diapers be fallowing suit? I know from reading post here that many people still prefer the plastic for their own reasons. For me, I prefer plastic because they seem to stay in place WAY better and seem far more durable. With seeing what your customers are saying and ordering, what do you think on the topic?
