One would think a place like Disney, that caters to kids, would have the mattresses protected preemptively.

You aren't the first person I've heard say that their, otherwise reliable, child wet the bed (or their pants) at Disney.

Very true statement Spartan. Especially since it was at the Shades of Green which caters to military families and young kids. Recently I have notice some hotels I have stayed at have a water proof pad on the mattress, which I cannot stand as the plastic makes it too hot to sleep. So I end up sleeping on an extra blanket or removing the pad since I really don't have problems wetting the bed, just when I get out of bed.

Btw, maximusno2 enjoy your stay and please don't take offense to what the staff did.
