Spread the word

Thu Jun 16, 2022 6:43 am

The pace with which new members appear on ISC is slowing and the numbers of active posters seems to be decreasing. Of course, I am not aware of the number of new lurkers.

IMHO, ISC does not receive enough publicity and recognition elsewhere. I recommend that those of us who are active on other incontinence forums actively recommend ISC for those who are serious about a moderated board for medical incontinence.

Of course, we need to be selective about where and to whom we recommend ISC. Please emphasize that we are for medical incontinence and not ABDL-related discussions.

What do shoppy and "y'all" think about this?

I don't frequent any other incontinence forums (I was on another one but didn't feel safe). But I do agree we could use new members! This site is awesome and has been a blessing for me as I have said in the past. I hope we get some new folks and the older members post more often!

Comments have slowed down quite a bit. Seem to be seeing fewer of the long time member names too.
Other forums?....be carefully of what you ask for. We have had a few unsavory lurkers come over from other less well moderated forums.
Thankfully our moderators shut them down pretty quickly.
Lighter side: I ordered several cases of Northshore briefs early last year with FSA money that was going to expire. Right now they are up over 10% without shipping costs! My IRA is down almost 20%. Evidence shows diapers are a good investment.

My experience here reflects what I was taught in freshman sociology, more years ago than I care to admit. Folks join and learn what they need to know to manage their incontinence;. When they are satisfied they have the skills they need, they leave. Those of us who stay on either have developing difficulties, or derive meaning from assisting others. However, there are so many incontinents in the developed world, let alone the rest of the planet, that sites like this are essential for vast numbers of folks.

I've noticed this also. I'm hoping that it is mostly because people are being empowered for their needs rather than old people passing away. I'm also hoping that postings from relative newbies like myself don't cause the long time participants to clam up. But I did turn in my rookie card at the start of this year. :D

I do participate on adisc.org these days because it has been so quiet here (mostly in their incontinence forum). But that is a double-edged sword. You find more interaction there, but you have to tolerate ABDL and sissy comments  , even though they discourage it in that particular forum. But even there, I find that the amount of truly incontinent and non-ABDL participation there seems relatively low (or silent). Perhaps some careful promotion of this site would be helpful.

Hi All

In my opinion this is the best incontinence forum around and a safe place thanks to the hard work of those who keep us safe incontinence can make me feel so vulnerable! As life starts to return to a post Covid-19 normal posts will dip as everyone goes out to do those fun things that were taken away including reconnecting with friends and family!

I wish this place was here when I started my incontinence journey.

Thanks again

Thans to all of you for your responses.

I fully agree with Patrick and Wayne about their reasons for some members joining ISC to acquire the information they need and then drifting away once they are satisfied. We can consider that a "success." I also agree with the stated reasons why many of us remaining active on ISC for years as I am one of them. I appreciate both the factual advice and the emotional reassurance available on ISC.

Also agree about ISC being a "safe place" for medical incontinents. I interpret all your responses to indicate that you are reasonably satisfied with our status quo and do not desire to potentially "rock the boat" by going out of our way to encourage new members. Wayne's comments about ADISC are valid. I am on that forum but restrict my participation to the "Incontinence" section.

Me for one am afraid to log in due to being hacked. This site is not secure as I have learned the hard way.
Additionally, there are a few very creepy people here that have made me feel VERY uncomfortable.
Otherwise, I check in every few days to see what’s happening, without logging in.
If the security here were to improve, making it safe to log in without the fear of being hacked, I’d visit much more frequently.

Why do some people creep you out?

From my experience running a website, running one with secure logging in is expensive; the SSL certificate costs as much as the hosting. I've had warnings from Google that my password from this site has been implicated in a data leak, but I only use it on this site and one or two other websites that aren't secure and don't take personal information.
