a night to remember

Fri Oct 02, 2015 3:36 pm

I deal with my paralyzed stomach by using a rather complex combination of diet ad medication. Usually I get everything right, and do not have a problem. Not last night. I started using a new medication, an OTC stool softener, to manage the colon blockage I usually get when I'm on a low-residue diet. Huge mistake. I soiled myself in my sleep. My diaper, plastic pants and Nullo did their work; however, I have a new appreciation for folks who must deal with this every morning. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had not worn protection, or if my protection had not been up to the task.

Patrick,

I really feel for you. You have to put up with so much and did not need that to happen.

On the plus side, be really thankful for good diapers and plastic pants. I know I am! :D And think of how bad the cleanup would have been otherwise. :(

JD,

Thanks. Although I'm not a diaper lover, yesterday did make me a diaper respecter. I do not pin my overnight diapers carelessly any more. Now, I take extra care and check everything twice.

Patrick,

I think "diaper respecter" is a very good term.

I think "diaper respecter" is a very good term. Well last night was one that fits the term, wife and I went on a date night. Well as you all know I have to take a lot of pain meds. The laxative meds I take let me have it while we were out and the end results was a mess to remember. good thing my diapers could handle the job. '' Respecter" yes I am

mljhr,

Balancing pain meds, diet, and colon response is an endless chore. I'm glad your protection worked for you. Going out and about can be a threatening challenge. Keep up the good work.

Mlhr,

Sorry you had to suffer through that. :( However, our conversations here help to remind all of us that we are not alone in our incontinence. I do derive some small comfort from that.
