mlhjr - i dont have the money for boosters right now, but plan on getting some when i get my disability on the 1st.
im looking at the xp medical site and was thinking about getting the abena abrilet normal. Would this be good for a diaper thats a size large?
and my dad ordered me some plastic pants so those should be coming in about 10 days

justj,
Pardon me for butting in but I almost always use booster pads with my diapers. Don't select the size of booster pad based on the size of the diaper (except that it has to fit inside the internal standing leak guard)s. Rather, estimate how much additional absorbency you need. You may need to do this by trial and error.
Re size, I like to ensure that there is ample space on either side of the booster pad to leave a gutter for pee to run into the mat of the diaper itself for faster absorbency. Do note that, just as all of the rear part of your diaper usually has not been used by the time you change, the same will happen with a booster pad that is too big. For me, a size small means that I use all of the booster's capacity and don't waste any money.
Either an Abrilet Normal or a Northshore Booster in size Small would be good choices. They have very similar costs and absorbencies.
The Abena Abrilet in size Normal has an absorbency of 16 oz. It would cost $.35 per booster purchased by the package at XP Med.
NorthShore Care offers their own line of booster pads. These are the ones I normally use. They have a capacity of 15 oz. The NorthShore Booster in size small would cost $.33 per booster when purchased by the package.
Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!

I have to call BS on this one too. The person you were working with said they were covered, and now this new person says they aren't? As if.
I agree, get that doctor's prescription for a specific pair, quantity, and manufacturer source for them, and ask his office to submit it directly to your insurance company. You will get them.

JD - im looking at the abena vs northshore small and the northshore small is much smaller than abena. I wear tranquility atn size large, is the small going to be big enough? Thanks!

Justj,
The Abrilet Normal is 4 x 13" and holds 16oz. They cost $.26 each when purchased by the case.
The NorthShore Small is 4 x 11.75" and holds 15 oz. They cost $.27 each when purchased by the case.
The two are so similar that in normal use you would not notice the difference. Either one may provide you with two additional hours between changes, depending on your level of hydration.
I try to purchase by the case whenever possible to maximize the savings. However, you really need to be sure of the product before you order.
