Guys (and gals), if you feel uncomfortable using the word "onesie," just call it a bodysuit or a snap-tee.

Sorry but I've got to disagree. We drink "milk", eat "apple sauce" and even may even need "baby sitting" when we're sick. There is nothing wrong with calling something what it is, regardless if it's a "onesie" or even a "diaper". The problem with what to call them only lies in our own heads. Getting past that problem is a reflection on our selves, nit what something should rightfully be called.

I don't know anybody that would say they need babysitting when they're sick. I think you may be a tad deep into that adult baby culture.

Not even that, when I had the flu a few weeks ago I could hardly get out of bed- let alone take care of myself by cooking, cleaning, and doing the usual chores. Thankfully my wife was there to take care of, and baby sit me. There was no adult baby play involved in that. It just is what it is.

The point I was trying to make though, is that there are a bunch of things that babies need, which as adults we also use or need- even if only in extreme circumstances. We normally don't have a problem with any if that, so why have a problem as small as calling something what it really is? Like a onesie, or a diaper, for example. It just is what it is.

My point was that your word choice is likely tied to your particular predilections. I don't think that's at all a common expression amongst adults of vanilla desires.

It may not include adult baby play, but your use of that phrasing is likely biased.

Well that is possible, and possibly likely. My original point still stands though. You don't have to be afraid to call something what it is. Why, because it is what it is.

Think the big issue is, what are you personally comfortable with. Many things in life are spoken of with euphemistic terms. Think of the terms for the rooms that contain toilets, sinks etc. In the US we call them restrooms or bathrooms. Some countries call them the WC. In Scotland they were un-euphemistically referred to as toilets. Women say they are going to powder their noise. others say they are visiting the facilities, bathroom or restroom. Again, it is what you are comfortable with.

Brian,
You are right about it, it is what it is, but some folks have yet come to terms with it. We often get touchy about words and thing do to what we have all gone through. My personal thought is stand up for what you believe in. Have a great day all !!

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose, and a Diaper is a Diaper is a Diaper.
