I seldom suffer from diaper rash except during the dead of winter. The climate I live in gets very cold with sub-zero temps which means very dry air. Those of you who live in northern climates can relate to this. My skin can get very dry and, I think because of this, I get more irritations/rashes in my diaper area. I have tried several lotions and diaper rash creams which help but they were all greasy no matter how much I would rub the lotion in. A friend gave me some Udderly Smooth lotion to try. I love this stuff. It is not greasy whatsoever. It is non-staining. It truely softens and protects skin. I use it on other areas of dry skin as well. After rubbing it into the skin it is not at all greasy, sticky, damp or wet.

I have eczema and this is a lot worse in the cold dry weather. The only emollients I have, though, are greasy ones so it is stick nappy on first and use the stuff on the rest of my body afterwards. Something on-greasy would be rather good though.

What is in this lotion as I doubt I can get this in the UK?

I not it contains lanolin which I though was a grease derived from the =fleece of sheep... Must look into this.

The Udderly Smooth hand and body lotion does contain lanolin as well as mineral oil but in a non-greasy formulation. It is advertised to be greaseless and stainless which I have found to be true. The lotion seems to penetrate into the skin and provide a protective barrier without leaving a layer of grease and oil on the skin. You just have to make sure you don't use too-much lotion as a little goes a long way and to make sure that you work the lotion into the skin until the skin feels dry to the touch. I've found this to be wonderful stuff.

My mother suffered from excema (sp?). She used Neutrogena (sp?) shampoo and lotion which worked quite well for her. She mainly had it on her scalp. Her physcians had tried many remedies over the years from coal tar based salves and shampoos to orally taken drugs but it was the Neutrogena that worked the best for her.

I'll see what I can get - I am suer I have seen Neutrogena around. Thanks for the advice.
