Post subject:  When using barrier cream

So I normally use Johnson’s baby powder with aloe to prevent diaper rash, well recently I’ve started to develop a rash, and I’ve started using triple paste to treat it and to prevent any more rashes. My question is, is it advisable to use baby powder along with the barrier cream? Or does that somehow hinder its effectiveness? I’ve never really had to deal with rashes before, so I’m kinda unsure of what to do.

I do not get rashes frequently, but I do get them, usually after a bowel release while I was asleep. I can understand that talcum powder might be abrasive, but not cornstarch powder. The added absorbency that cornstarch powder gives may seem minor, but I find it useful.

I do an either or but not both, but that is just my preference. I use cornstarch through the day and a barrier cream at night and after I have had a movement

If you are using a barrier cream, it is not necessary to use powder as the skin already is being protected.
