Just a heads up if U wear cloth diapers. Avoid using rash creams that contain petrolatum or any other petroleum derivative. This will interfere with the absorbency. Calmoseptine is a good choice because it does not contain petrolatum and it soothes the skin

Many rash creams are not "cloth diaper friendly." They will accumulate on the fibers of the cloth and be difficult to wash out. For a cloth-friendly barrier try virgin coconut oil. It easily washes out of cloth diapers and provides a good light barrier. I use it.

Not to mention, it will interfere with the adhesive on the tabs. Found out the hard way when I put lotion on my hands for dry skin and had one heck of a time changing even with tape.

That would apply to disposables, not cloth, yes?
