New generic brand of Calmoseptine

Thu Sep 10, 2015 1:42 am

Those of you who are fans of the Calmoseptine ointment found at Walgreens will apprecaite this. Walgreens came out with their own generic brand of Calomseptine. I compared the two tubes.. and the ONLY thing different is Walgreens brand is cheaper (obviously) and it has 2 different inactive ingredients than calmoseptine does. I have tried both to compare, and the biggest difference I see is the Calmoseptine is a bit thicker paste than the walgreens. So, now you have a choice. Both work equally well I find.. Not sure what the difference is. Right now I have the bad red rash on my testicles that seems to be recurring, so I should have plenty of chacnes to try both tubes and let you all know if i notice any difference..

Peace out!

Rob

Diaper rashes are the pits. Good luck getting this one cured. Keep us informed.

Hey Rob. First, sorry to hear about the rash. I also am fighting a mild flare up as I type. This is due to our extreme heat (and admittedly my having to scratch the itch which I know is bad!).

Thanks for posting a cheaper alternative. Always like saving a few bucks in our ordeal.

And allow me to recommend an ointment I recently tried. It's called "Baby Anti-Monkey Butt Diaper Rash Cream". It was recommended to me by another incon acquaintance who swore by it. And while it doesn't have the zinc oxide content of Calmoseptine, whatever they put in it sure does greatly help with rashes and soothing the burning feeling.

I'll still use Calmoseptine for prevention during the hot summer or super humid times ... But for flare ups, I use the Anki-Monkey Butt.

P.S. Gee ... I sure do hate rashes! Ugh!!!

I know my youngest son has real bad psoriasis and gets diaper rashes periodically, even still. We use the Baby Anti Monkey Butt powder and cream, in addition to Flanders Buttocks Ointment. Not sure of their ingredients but they clear him up right away.

I have used "BUTT PASTE" and also "Lantiseptic"

Lantiseptic is a barrier cream for incontinence, it has Lanolin and beeswax.
