Tim and Val are smitten by everyone's outpouring of advice and support.
Tim says he'll sign up to be a member to get be able to continue asking questions and to give back too.

I also want to update you all
Val's been buying incontinence supplies from HDIS and XPMedical after his surgery. They've been helpful with recommending pads, pullups and nightime diapers.
I also told them about Northshore and LL Medico.
He got some sample diapers several days ago and he was able to play a round of golf for the first time!!
And they are planning their first trip since surgery because he feels FREE to travel.

Several of you mentioned in public and private the worry, anxiety and fear that comes with inadequate protection. Tim definitely had that. Val told me that every decision to leave the house - volunteer, dining, shopping, golf, pickleball - Not decision was simple. Every decision would lead to questions about time away from home, time in the car, nearby bathroom, etc. They also haven't traveled since surgery.

As one of you mentioned, he feels freedom. That is priceless!!

Tim and his wife might consider packing a go bag. A capacious gym/diaper bag can be a life saver when he is out and about. They should think about how long they expect to be gone, what handicapped restrooms will be available, and whether he will feel safe using pull ups, or maybe feel safer with larger capacity tape on protection. Premedicated wipes, disposable gloves if he needs assistance, ointment, powder, supermarket plastic bags, and several clean pull ups to change into might be included.

If he decides to experiment with washable diapers, he may need to purchase trousers/jeans/Bermudas in sizes with enough room to accommodate his new body dimensions. Matching trousers to protection may become a regular part of getting dressed each morning.
