I don't drink on a daily basis, but when I do drink at home alone, I can easily overdo it. I hit my rock bottom by puking all over my apartment a steak I cooked in Fireball. So, I'm giving it up. Even if I can drink just a little bit in social situations, I don't want to. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Still struggling to find an AA meeting in my area.

Not sure how this will affect my incontinence, if at all, but I'm sure my liver is going to be a lot happier and will thank me.

This is my 4th day sober, and I feel awesome.. I feel free... I want to keep it up.

Peace out!

Rob

Good luck.....good choice...there is help out there if you choose sobriety.
Can't find a meeting? Try google.
There are literally hundreds of weekly meetings in every decent sized city.

You can do it, but by all means get the support of a group if you can. My son was headed down the same path, but thank God, I think he's resolved to clean up and turned a corner. I'll pray for both of you.

Rob - I’m 19 years sober. I had alcohol and drug problems and hit my bottom when I became homeless. I congratulate you on your 4 days. Keep it up and yes go to an AA meeting. Find yourself a sponsor. Reach out to others in recovery. Recovery is possible. If you struggle to find an AA meeting in person there are a lot online. Start off with aa.org and there are also online meetings at intherooms.com

I hope you stick with it.

Keep up the good work you will feel a lot better!

I was told by my incontinence advisor when I was a child that I could never drink alcohol and have not touched a drop apart from the alcohol naturally added to food!

Not drinking saved me a lot of money too!

Take care!

I'm now 8 months sober, and it has been a wonderful transformation in my life. Yes, I am in AA. For the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to growing old. My wife and kids are seeing a very different person, one they enjoy being with.

AA did a little to help me stop drinking, and more importantly, helped me begin to fix the problems that got me to drinking in the first place.
