A drying cabinet looks like a fridge but it isn’t. You hang your clothes on racks. The dryer takes the ambiant air, heats it and thus dry your delicate clothing without any rotation like in a tumble-dryer. It’s very common in Scandinavian countries, I’ve never seen this elsewhere in the world.

What is the benefit of a close drying closet versus a box dryer?

It dryes effectively without the mechanical wear that follows an ordinary dryer.

A drying cabinet is practical but also gentle on your most sensitive fabrics. A drying cabinet uses no mechanical action that can wear your clothes, the air stream transports residual moisture and it's almost like drying outdoors.
