I guess I want more support from my doctors. However, I do get that here. Gastroparesis can make daily life (management) extremely difficult. My gastroenterologists (both physicians and medical doctors) behaved more like mechanics and less like empathetic advisors. Which is where pelvic floor physical therapists enter the picture. They understand our predicament from both a medical professional point of view, and also from our patients' perspective. The most careful dietary and medication management will not prevent vomiting, gastric pain, colon blockages, and diarrhea. GP is not for folks who are easily embarrassed, easily frustrated, or self-indulgent.
Thanks for letting me vent.
