Well surgery is going to be on the 20th and I am going to be out of work for a bunch more time. Lucky I am getting in ASAP. The surgeon thinks that he will be able to save a lot more than what my GI doctor thinks but said he will know more after pre op which is on the 13th. I am not as stressed as I was about it. And after having another flare up on Monday that is still giving me a lot of pain I feel like it can not be avoided any longer.

Add my best wishes and prayers to those above. Enduring that surgery will require courage, and all the support we can give.

Well pre op went well this morning, just blood work and a lot of questions. The big take away is that the surgeon has not seen my CT scans or the results of my colonoscopy yet. That will be done while I am in prep for surgery next week. What that means to me is that the surgeon does not know yet how much of the colon he will have to remove or if I will not need open surgery just yet. During the consultation he told me that it should be a normal amount due to my age but did not have the scans yet. I let him know that I was anything but normal with having several large abscesses already. I am hoping for the best but also prepaid for the worst.
