Sadly a few of us find the side effects of the medications far worse the thought of using "diapers" (or whatever you use to manage). so you are not alone there! but it is not so bad, really once you can get over the stigma and find something you trust its just becomes your normal.
I am not saying that medications don't work, MANY (most) people find ones that work and not cause side effects for them so anyone working with doctors please don't give up! Absorbent products aren't the only solution but could be the best for a few! either way that works for you it is possible to live well!
