Nice essay! Valid points, too. I still wear pullups (Depend Fit Flex) during the day but have gone to tabbed Prevail diapers at night. This way I don't have to change in the middle of the night or risk getting the bed wet. It has taken some getting used to but the diapers feel good and do the needed job. As my incontinence is here to stay I'll be using these indefinitely. Therefore, thank you.

Yeeah. Very interesting, that point of view. Although there is much humiliating words thatn can be used to refer to a diaper I think, such as "nappy". In spanish there is the common word "diaper" and then others more used with kids and informal speaking that can be used to increase the shame sensation of the person referred (I remember one time that I was in the hospital that a stupid bitch did it to me saying "but you still wear nappies?" like I were I brat, that´s what I mean) but anyways, it´s true, any word used for IT has stigma. Thanks for the article. And congratulations for the web, it´s very encouraging see others concerned with our matter that make it more visible and help to normalize everything.

Best regards!!!

I hate the word ''nappy'' I don't think its age appreciate to use the word nappy for incontinent adults, it has negative connotations.

Nappy and Diaper have the same connotations depending on what side of the Pond you live on, In my house, they are called underwear and I believe that is the best way to leave the stigma behind but after all the years of using them diaper or whatever you want to call them does not bother me.
