Hey guys. Surgery went well. I'm still in the hospital. They did a bone graft and fusion. Its amazing with all the drugs my stupid butt still has trouble sleeping. The incontinence hasn't been an issue. I've found if you dont make it an issue it wont be one. Here's to recovery!

Glad the surgery went well. Continue to heal. When other health issues enter into ones life, incontinence becomes secondary. I'm now having heart issues which occupies my thoughts a lot more than my incontinence problems. More and more health professionals are seeing me in diapers. It's still a little unnerving, but it is getting easier.

dp66 - I'm sorry you're dealing with heart issues. I know what it's like to go through health specialists, tests, etc. Since my accident I've been through a gauntlet of tests and surgeries. Having nurses and doctors see me in diapers is nerve wracking but what is my other choice? The nurse who just changed me I think goes to my temple so that was embarrassing. But whe had a chuckle when she said my betterdrys were nicer than her sons diapers.

I'm home. In a lot of pain but I suppose that's to be expected with a bone graft and fusion. They have me on morphine. Ugh. Dont worry I dont like the stuff. The incontinence was the least of my problems. Its gonna be a long road....

Although I do regret the pain you must endure, you're home; you're healing, and, with each passing day you will improve. Keep up the good work.

Several years ago my family physician ordered oxycodone for me to manage the pain caused by several fractured vertebrae. I think I took maybe six doses, and that was it. No more. The analgesic was worse than the pain of the fractured bones. I guess I should have more sympathy for drug addicts, but, their lives must be really awful if they think that drugs improve their situation.

Patrick - I can see how one would just want to numb their feelings but I myself don't like it. It makes me fall asleep or nod off until I do. I dont like randomly waking up or being in the middle of a text and waking up. It took me forever to do this post. Hahaha.

I'm grateful I have them though cause the pain is excruciating.

:(

Feel better soon, Justej! I'm sorry you're in pain but with each passing day you should improve. Glad the incontinence was not an issue on top of what you're going through. PM me if you ever need to chat. I can give some recommendations for shows to watch during your recovery.

Thanks icgirl. I've been really isolated since I got home. I have my aide during the week and she is great. But we haven't found a good weekend aide yet. I get to go out to a doctor appointment Thursday and then I see my surgeon Friday. I cant wait to get out. My cat is a good companion but she sleeps most of the time.
