So I have my MRI tomorrow morning at 8:30am and see the neurosurgeon at 10:30.
I'm terribly nervous that I will have an accident in the machine. I'm gonna wear a northshore supreme and hope for the best.
I am also not looking forward to telling the surgeon that I'm going to have to wear a diaper during my permanent implant surgery. I hate this.

you have to do what you need to to be safe it takes a big person to admit to needing and wearing what needs to be worn

Do let the doctor know that you are wearing a diaper. It will then be his/her call if you have to remove it. Then if you have an "accident" it will not be your fault.

Your doctor has probably seen people with diapers, to him/her it is just another day at the office.

Hi Justej

Hope all goes well for your test and meeting just let them know you need to wear and they will take care of the rest if they need you to remove your diaper for the mri they will put a absorbant pad under you incase you have an accident they see adult diapers more often then you think

Justej,
I have had MRI’s, x-rays, and CT’s of my head, lumbar spine, both knees and hips, and lower abdomen. I have never been asked to remove my diapers. Even for my hips. The machine can see right through it. If you ask, they can lay down a chux pad. I always give them a heads up about my incontinence. But it’s never been a problem. They told me even if the diaper was saturated, it was unlikely to be an issue. You should be ok. They do this a lot.

Everything went ok. My Northshore's performed like a champ and caught my flood mid MRI with no leaks. My neurosurgeon said everything looks great. I told him about my incontinence and he didn't bat an eye. In fact he said he wouldn't be surprised if it was a result of trauma from my fall.

I also got approved for 8 hours a day 56 hours a week of PCA care. I still have to be approved by the economic security administration and assessed by another agency but this is one huge step forward.

I'll be staying overnight at the hospital and will be bringing my own supply of diapers. I've learned from past mistakes.

Glad to hear it went ok! Here’s hoping everything else falls in line
