It's not working like I hoped it would. I still have a lot of pain in my ankle. I still have to walk with a crutch when I'm out. I'm pretty disappointed |

I talked to my implant specialist. She said a lot of people realized it's helping when they take the trial leads out. I have reduced pain when I'm sitting and some when I'm walking. This is considered a success. I was just hoping for more relief. I haven't decided if I want the permanent one. |

I feel for you mate it is difficult. I had good relief with the trial so it was a no brainer for me I had the permanent one implanted as soon as they could do it. Now it took some time after the implant was done to get things right but eventually I found the right program. I had three of four months when it worked great but then one of the wires failed and I had to have a revision as they called it or in layman's terms I had the wire replaced. It's never hit the spot as good since and that's five years ago now. It's really disappointing for me because I know what it can do. Don't forget even if you have it done and a few months down the line you don't want it they can always take it out again. Hope you improve. 4wheeldave. |

Mattwp - mine is the Boston scientific nerve stimulator implant. A pain doctor put my trial one in but a neuro doctor will do the permanent. Dave - thanks man for all your input. I think I will go ahead with the permanent one. Like you said I can always have them take it out later. It has helped I will say that. Maybe the permanent one will help me more. |

I got the leads out today and oh my god the thing was actually helping! The pain is really bad now. I have an MRI next Thursday and right after I see a neurosurgeon then we will schedule the permanent one. And I showered!!! I feel like a new man. |
