robotic prostatectomy and diverticulotmy

Yesterday was a big day. Due to low level prostate cancer and a very, very large bladder diverticula, I proceeded with the prostate removal and diverticula removal at the same time. The diverticula was so large it would have had to removed anyway. When the urologist said they could be done at the same time, I went for it. The surgery went well. The urology team used 6 small incisions to extract everything. I think it would be interesting to watch a robotic surgery of some kind. I will need to be catheterized for 2 weeks before it is removed. Then the next phase begins. I am very sore and tire easily, but I'm glad I did it. Due to my complicated history, I know I will have to continue with the diaper route. There are a few more drugs he would like to try, so maybe that will help some. What a trip it has been!

This reads as though you went through the mill. I'm not sure I would like to view a video of any of the procedures the doctors have done on me; you are indeed brave. Good luck and keep us informed about your recovery.

Patrick, I just think it would be interesting to see how those machines work. Yes, on someone else.

Hey, at last they didn't try going in through your urethra to remove it all. One surgery and you're good. Or at least I hope you'll be.
