Does anyone have any experience claiming reimbursement for diapers under the VA FMP?
I keep trying to call them, but after about 20 minutes on hold waiting for "the next available person", I give up.

Here's my situation:
I am a retired, disabled veteran. I (finally) got the VA to add my bladder incontinence to my disability list. Because I live overseas and don't have access to a VA medical center, I can claim reimbursement for certain purchases directly related to my disabilities. I can't find diapers anywhere in their literature or on the website, and as I said above, can't get them on the phone.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I really don't want to put a claim together, only to have it denied.

Not for diapers, but for most anything in general with the va. You've just got to stick through their long hold times. One thing I like to do is put their hold on speaker then go about doing something else (preferably something that isn't too loud and you can put down real quick). As long as you can adequately hear it, you will hear when someone finally comes on to speak with you, but you won't have ended up spending 20+ minutes in a state of perpetual boredom.

I tried again today, and to my surprise, no hold time.

It turns out that they do reimburse for diapers under the FMP, as long as you buy them outside the USA.

thank you for this information also, we are a bit different in our situation as my wife is finishing her master's degree in education and were talking about her teaching for DODEA for a few years after her first year of teaching. I am sure I can get diapers over in Europe because she wants to be in Conus or Europe for her teaching job which is all on US bases soo I am hoping i can just get my VA stuff form local dispensary does anyone have any clue as too this
