Although Porkchop has in the recent past poo-pooed my concerns, I can't help a bit of worrying. Sociologygeek, I know that you've had some depression lately. I hope you're doing okay. Patrick, I hope that your absence here is merely an indication that you have been busy with family day trips and vacations. I'd love to hear from both of you.

I didn't shrug of your concerns, I merely playfully noted your observational skills. If you are still mad, I will apologize again. Hopefully we can get past this and move on.....

Wetters,
Thank you for your concern. However, it was misplaced.
For the last twenty-three days my wife and I have lived out of suitcases, driving from Pennsylvania to Utah and back. We visited the national parks of Utah and Colorado, then stopped by to visit friends in Dallas on our way home. Believe me, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I brought home a flaming diaper rash to prove it. My wife navigated, and I drove, some 4,300 miles in all, by her calculation. It was the sort of experience that friends and neighbors pay us not to bring up in conversation when they visit.
So, no, I have not fallen off the edge of the planet, and I'm not angry with anybody (except maybe this rash).
More relevant to this site, the diaper rash I developed was the consequence of being unable to wash and change as frequently as necessary, inability to shave, and the dehydration necessary to manage driving without challenging my protection. Gastroparesis was especially challenging. Basically, I drove the whole trip with a bellyache.
I'm glad to be back.

Patrick, I'm happy to hear that all's (almost) well with you, and that you were able to have your trip. Wow, that's a lot of miles! Sorry about the diaper rash and gastro discomfort, but I'm guessing that since you're now back on home turf, you can manage better and will have some relief soon.
Porkchop, there's nothing to move on from. I just chose to continue to express my concern for everyone's wellbeing.
