Ok first off been a while since I last posted, I only tend to post when my mind is being unkind and making me self conscious about my incontinence. Plus I tend to spend most my time working and never seems enough time in the day to check this great forum.
Ok here is the situation I found myself in today, day off so decided to go shop and buy some summer clothes as well as the weekly food shop.
Walking around Tesco quite happily browsing the offers when all of a sudden a middle aged lady came up and discretely notified me that I might want to sort my shirt.
shock horror quite literally, mumbled thanks and very quickly put my hand on back of jeans only to discover a section of my shirt was tucked into my protection. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't focus on the rest of the shopping.
The rest of the shop I kept thinking to myself did she identify it as a nappy or did she just think it was underwear?
no idea how it happened as normally very careful with things like that..
How would you have responded / acted.
Now I am thinking I was perhaps rude just mumbling thanks but then again what else was I to say, I even had myself questioning what I would have done if I was her. It must have taken some courage for her to approach me.
Anyway that's what's been bugging my mind today and just needed to get it out.

Embarrassing YES, but also kind of her to mention it. Chances are you'll never see her again.

Just laugh it off, now that the moments passed.. that is what I try to do in general.

There is a strong possibility that she mentioned that to you because she is sensitized to that herself. Either she is IC, or someone she knows well is. So now you can pass that along to someone else one day.

That indeed was an act of kindness. We all should be around such understanding people. However, I too would have been shocked and would have been unsure how to handle the situation.

Probably the lady agonized for a bit as to whether to tell you, and what your reaction would be.

Agree with what has been said. Maybe she has to wear them also or knows someone who does. I too would have been in shock, but eventually I think I would be appreciative someone said something than quickly exited the scene.

Thanks for all the responses, wasn't expecting so many people if any to reply. Have to say I agree with all of you and should be very thankful for the lady actually mentioning it. Plus like someone mentioned I probably wont ever see here again and even if I did I don't think I would recognise her!

I'm sure she realized how embarassing it was for you. I think a "Thank You very much" would be in order for her. We all understand the embarrassment factor. She was very nice to mention it to you and not let you keep going that way. I know I'd be mortified, though at the same point you have to try and laugh it off. We don't have any control over the hand were dealt.
