I just had a discussion about diapers and scanners with a local TSA agent. Her general reaction was that it should not be a big deal, but that there is a big variation in equipment and training of the scanner operators in different areas. She did, however, recommend that anyone in diapers "opt out" of the scanner and instead receive the pat down inspection.

Agreed w/JD. I too "always" opt out ... I know that they've felt the diaper. And never an issue.
