Re: Coffee? Booze? Soda?

There are probably differences to caffeine levels and amounts of other chemical compounds present in the coffee, depending on its maturity, roast-level and environmental factors, such as the soil in which the plant has grown. Those affect the taste and potency, but also probably the adverse effects. Personally, a cup or two of coffee isn't a killer for me, but a glass of Coke, energy drink (yuck) or orange juice (due to its acidity) is. For some reason black tea seems to irritate my bladder more than coffee. Green tea's ok.

I didn't realize so many people had the same experience. While cutting caffeine and alcohol reduces my symptoms, It doesn't reduce it enough. It doesn't even reduce it enough to lower my level of protection. So I drink a fair amount of soda, and one or two cups of coffee. Coffee affects my bowels much worse than my bladder, so I try and limit consumption of it.

my vice is soda. Diet Dr. Pepper and Mt. Dew. The only time I drunk coffee was on those long mid watches many years ago, after tasting some burnt coffee it just ruined coffee for me. Just like others when I did cut back I saw little difference so why bother cutting out something I enjoy drinking.

Well, in an effort to cut back on my soda intake I have started trying flavor coffee, no sugar or creamer. By doing this I cut out the sugar that soda has, but still get the caffeine. I have notice my bladder gets aggravated easier now. Damm if I do and Dammed if I don't. I would say though cutting out the sugar is probably better for me.
