Pickup a couple of washable waterproof pads that go,on top of the sheets, is use ones that are 34"x54" whe one gets wet I grab it on my way to change, then replace it then get back to sleep never having to,wake my wife.
I rotate 4 of them so I always have a couple of spares it works out great as the sheets never get wet and I still have the main mattress protector under the sheets as a just in case

I had my eureka moment in 1999 during a middle-of-the-night bed stripping. I wondered about a pad that would sit on top of the bottom sheet, and when someone wakes up wet, he/she can slide the wet pad off the bed, and after cleaning up in the bathroom and changing pajamas, put a fresh pad on the bed and get back to sleep with minimal sleep disruption and no disturbance at all to a sleeping partner. I thought I'd have to design and make them, but when I got home from work that day, a catalog was waiting in my mailbox that had just what I was imagining.

Wetters and Rob,
You have made very important points about minimal sleep disruption and not having to awaken a sleeping partner.
