I saw my orthopedic surgeon today. He did xrays and a ultrasound. My ankle joint has deteriorated completely. It's now bone on bone. I meet with him on August 2nd to discuss fusion surgery. This will be the 7th surgery on my legs. My last day of work is tomorrow. It was going to be Tuesday but I have to do minimal walking. My permanent PCA starts next month so I guess this is a good time to do it. I know this isn't IC related but you all have been there with me through almost all of this. I'm tired.

Hope it all goes well. I have had many operations and fifteen general anaesthesia. The days leading up to an operation are strange. You take care and recover fast. 4wheeldave

Thanks schoppy and Dave. One fall caused so much turmoil and damage. Itll be 5 years in January and I hope this is the end. At least for my legs. My incontinence wont get better but I've come to terms with that.

It is amazing what the human body can endure and still function well after injury, but there's that one incident that the body has the most trouble time overcoming even with all the medical help we have today.

Add my best wishes. Even if this latest injury/surgery is seemingly unrelated to your incontinence, in reality it is. While dealing with recovery from my thyroid surgery last month, I had several accidents. The staff were professional, did what they needed to do without fuss, and went about their other business. Even though I was strung out on anesthesia, I still felt embarrassed that I needed such assistance. Humility is a virtue; it's the humiliation that bothers me.

That is so true Patrick. I wont be able to walk for 4-5 months. I'm gonna need help changing. My pca is supposed to start next month. They will be doing the work. I'm nervous about that. I'll be in the hospital for a few days and will also need assistance. I'm kinda used to it now but its still embarrassing as hell.
