Just checking in and letting others know that I still monitor this board daily.
I continue to use old-fashioned tap water enemas to manage my fecal incontinence and seem to be rare in that regard. My docs still approve of this. However, these days when one mentions the word "enema" most people immediately think of the Fleet enemas.

It's good to see you're still around John!
Even though it took me months to figure it out, I am now mostly F-IC free. I have to watch my diet and particularly avoid butter/margarine. I can still have a BM after getting out of bed sometimes but I can usually make it to the toilet soon enough.
I don't know why my GI tract rejects butter these days. Only that I used to eat liberal amounts of it on toast in the morning and potatoes etc. at other times. I suppose my body finally just said "enough!" As much as I miss it, I can live with that to be free of public embarrassment during the day.

Wayne, congratulations on your success re F-IC. It is great that you were able to identify that "trigger."

Let me add my gratitude to JD for his contributions to our community. For all of us, incontinence is different. It can be a minor embarrassment for some; for others, it can be a life altering experience. My cardiac surgery two years ago put it in useful perspective. Then, last May first, I had a Tumarkins. Suddenly, incontinence lost most of its power over me. I am still incontinent, and I still value the folks in our community. However, I simply do what I need to do, including checking in periodically, and doing what I can to manage.
Again, thank you JD, and thank you to every other member of our community.
