They can be washed normally, but not put in the dryer. Like with normal plastic pants, this will cause them to degrade very fast.

If there are any cracks, holes, or pinholes in the pul material then they will leak at those points.

I machine wash mine, but always let them air dry. My two oldest pairs of pul pants is probably over five years old now, and they still work just fine.
