Welcome Sarah! You will like this group. Many of us have shared your experiences with both bladder and bowel incontinence. It is good to have you with us.

Sarah,

I thought it was an excellent choice of words. Sorry my post didn't convey that. Let me explain my reasoning.

1.
a dirty or untidy state of things or of a place.

This definition fits as when accidents do happen it is a "mess" to clean up.

2.
a situation or state of affairs that is confused or full of difficulties.

In this one I felt "mess" was also used properly as this situation causes all types of confusion and is full of difficulties.

So essential using the word mess fit both things you were referring to.

Hi Sarah,

Welcome. I am bowel incontinent as well. I have IBS-D, which is made worse by the fact I had my sigmoid colon removed in 2009. The last 5 years I noticed I was starting to have problems making it to the toilet in time and had all to frequent accidents. Like you I have begrudgingly accepted the fact that I will have to be diapered for the rest of my life. You will find this is an excellent place for information and understanding people.

Peace,
Max

Thank you Max :D

Yes as i sed ive learnt the hard way of life that somethings you just have to learn to accept and try to find away to cope with and the meaning to try to deny the problem is a dead end anyway so better to try to accept ,Adabt and move on with what we got to work with and try to do our best with it.

For me yes i have accepted the rather obvius fact that this is probaly for the rest of my life and it WILL get worse. (when i have searched for diffrent risk factors to develope this diagnos i found 6 of them match my life background so i would say as with life in general i have the ods against me from start :(
