My Gastroenterologist at Mayo tried to treat my GI troubles. She prescribed me a strong antibiotic called Xyfaxan. It is powerful enough to treat C-diff. She was trying to kill off any bad bacteria in my gut and help the good flourish. I have a lot of trouble with chronic GI distress. After the course of antibiotics, she told me to eat activia yogurt twice a day for ten days. It has helped with regularity. It was useful for me. It may be useful for others.

I'm wondering if I should try this. My bowels are all screwed up. I'm supposed to see a gastroenterologist but damnit that's another specialist. And more tests and I'm just tired. I think I'll pick some up this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes Don.

Hi Don,
I picked up some Activia yesterday and had my first one this morning with breakfast. I plan on doing one a day. I'll let you know how it goes.

Very good. I found it helpful. I like the blueberry ones myself. To me, they taste like regular yogurt.

I got the strawberry ones. I agree they taste like regular yogurt. I was constipated yesterday but was able to have a regular bowel movement this morning so it appears it's doing something!
