How do you deal with fecal incontinence?

It took a long time to isolate the cause but it has turned out to be that my digestive system rejects butter. Butter causes me to have uncontrollable diarrhea about 2+ hours later. So if I do have butter, whether on toast or in Kraft Dinner etc., I need to stay near the toilet! I did know that other oily meals like sausages and hash browns were bad news. But butter surprised me because even just having some spread on bread or a bun is a problem.
I am now trying a margarine brand "I can't believe it's not butter", but that will take a while. I have to pick times when I can safely assume the risks.

Very interesting. I would not have suspected such a minor food item to have so much effect. Agreed re sausages and hash browns (but I love them).

So far, it appears that margarine is having the same effect on my GI system. I'm not happy about that.

Butter? Wow. Just becoming familiar with all the foods that list it among their ingredients is a chore that will take time. What about other fats, such as Crisco and cooking oils? Good luck and keep us informed.

Wayne, your body must be extremely sensitive to oils. I need to reexamine my own intake.

Agreed. I actually had a F-IC episode at lunchtime at work before I knew I was becoming IC. That was a day where I ate hash-browns as part of a fast-food (A&W) breakfast. Fortunately no one was around when it happened and I've sworn off of hash-browns ever since!
