Hi all,
This jock itch is the worst thing.. it requires ample airing out time.. and since it might last quite a bit, I am wondering if I wouldnt do my skin a favor by just letting it heal. No plastic diapers cutting into my thigh, no wetness in my crotch. Maybe a temporay foley catheter would be beneficial. Im at my wits end with this jock itch. The powder helps but its nowhere near gone away.

Thoughts?

Peace out!

Rob

Whatever you do don't use powder anymore if you do have a Foley. It's an absolute no no.

They didnt give you a cream? That may work better than a powder. And I would think changing as soon as possible and thoroughly cleaning the groin area a few times a day would be a better than a Foley.

Why is that?

Btw I was saying that because catheters scare the crap out of me since my infection. So my opinion may be moot.

From a retired nurse. Be very careful if you have a folly catheter, it is a way to get a UTI. It is a direct way into the bladder. My advice would be do not get a catheter if you can in anyway avoid it.

There is a saying that a catheter is a ladder to your bladder. The last thing you want is talcum powder getting into your bladder which it could easily do like germs do. That's why powder is a huge no no if you have a catheter.
