So with me now having to wear 24/7 and the fact that adult diapers are not cheap. I have decided to go ahead and give cloth diapers a try, to help combat the financial aspects off needing to wear diapers. I am not going full cloth, just during the nights sense I am not always wet in the morning and when I am at home and around the house. I purchased mine from HappyEndings Eco, to which I've already had the opportunity to test them during the day and during the night. Overall they are good and work great, however I have already had an incident to were I had soaked through a pair thus wetting my office chair but I didn't find out until I got up. I don't blame the diaper but only myself for not putting enough inserts in. I am although still new to cloth so I need to tweak things to fit my incontinence. But I would say that I do find it hard to tell if I am wet or not I don't know if that just me or is that a cloth thing?

I wish I could make cloth work, but the heat from the plastic pants and the feeling on my legs kills me. :(

I hope you were wearing black, or at least dark colored slacks. Incontinence management requires continual adjustments in our protection; cloth is no exception. So many factors, such as fluid intake, perspiration, local relative humidity, and protection absorbency, to name just a few, that must be considered mean flexibility will always be necessary.

@Patrick: I actually only tried them at home, so I was just wearing lounge wear.

@Bob- I bought myself an office chair from Costco that is a plastic mesh. No upholstered padding to dampen. Just a mesh that dries out like a webbed lawn chair.

Jesse, cloth is great. It will require some experimentation and then you will love it.

I have gone to cloth diapers during the day. I have noticed that an odder can happen, before I need to change. I did not notice an odder when I used disposable diapers. My question is: Any one know of something I can treat a cloth diaper with that will prevent an unpleasant odder?

I'm told that vinegar helps with the odor issue. I haven't had that problem yet, but it might just be my laundry soap and well water combination.

Howdy
Thought I would put my 2 cents out there on what works for me. :)

I wear cloth diapers every night and at times during the day while i'm home.
I make sure that I drink enough that my urine is almost clear. That will help keep the smell down.

Normally I do laundry 3 times a week and I use Dreft liquid laundry detergent.
I try to wash 2-3 diapers at a time depending on how thick I had them. My daytime ones are thinner than the ones I use at night.

Always separate the layers when you put them in the washer, it makes it easier to get them clean.
In every wash I add some bleach to kelp keep them smelling better.
I also have a 2ND rinse setting on my washer, I find that also helps out.
I make sure that I use HOT water, even making sure that the sink next to it has hot water running out of it before I start the washer.
Use the highest water level setting, more water the better.

Of course if the diapers are messy then you need to rinse them off before washing them.

Well that's how i've been doing it and it seams to work out just fine for me.
I do have stains on them from using them over the last year, but i'm not worried about that.
I just like to keep them clean and smelling good.

I put my plastic pants in the same wash, but I hang them up to dry.

I hope that this helps you out and at least gives you some ideas to use.
:D :D :D
