VINYL PANTS

I have made vinyl pants to use with my cloth diapers. The total cost was $4.38. For the vinyl I used a medium weight shower curtain liner bought at Walmart. From this one liner I had enough vinyl to make two pairs of vinyl pants. I also bought the leg and waist elastic at Walmart. Since I did not have a sewing pattern, I made one using an old pair of vinyl pants that had some holes in them and were no longer usable.

Here is what I used:

Waist elastic 3/4” package cost with tax $1.04 used all $1.04
Leg elastic 3/8” package cost with tax $1.04 used 2/3 $0.69
Medium weight frosted shower liner $5.30 used 1/2 $2.65
-------
$4.38

Incidentals:
Thread, glue, tape, paper

I have found that the ones I made are more robust than any vinyl pants I have bought.

If you or your partner can sew you can make your own also. If you would like step by step instruction send me a private message with your email address and I will send you a PDF file of how I made them

I am amazed that no one has replied to your post here. What this means is that you are able to make them with a higher than normal 'rise' to them so you get total and complete coverage at the waist. You could even make them taller in the back for extra coverage when sleeping on your back. Are you still making them (your post is dated year 2017). Have you tried using any of the super quality vinyl material (is it called euroflex). Once upon a time back in (was it) the late 1930s some one like you started the industry using a shower curtain for material. Hurrah For You!

I have now made plastic pants using a trash bag. The total cost is less than one dollar. I cut holes for the lets and sew elastic in place. I also sew elastic for the waist. I anyone wants more information let me know.

Years ago, before the development of reliable adult disposable diapers, I used to make my own cloth diapers and plastic pants. I bought a sewing machine and learned to use it well enough to make the things that I needed to manage my incontinence.

This is some serious guerrilla incontinence protection! Well done.
