is all about how cheap they can make the adult cloth diapers the actual cost to make the diapers is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the final sale price for a US made one and probably the ones made in china have a even more insane mark up.

that is why i want to make high quality contour diapers for myself as i have been wearing cloth more and more and not having the skin irritations from the cloth either

The new high-tech fabrics such as Zorb are very popular in pocket diapers for infants and toddlers. I am surprised that they have not been introduced to the commercial adult cloth diaper market as they both increase absorbency and reduce the bulk of cloth diapers and booster pads. That particularly could have benefit cloth diapers worn during the daytime when one needs to control the bulk and yet preserve absorbency. I certainly would be one of the first customers if I could find such products. :)

As mentioned above, often super heavy, super absorbent diapers take forever to dry. Which makes doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling lighter diapers a reasonable alternative.

Having thinner diapers that you can stack as needed is great.
If I know ill be sleeping late, or know that it will be a really wet night, I will add extra layers to my night diaper.
And as stated before, they will wash out better and will dry faster than a thicker one.

I have been using gauze prefolds from AngelFluff Diaper Co.
I was using flannel prefolds, but I would have to dry them twice or just once then hang them up to finish drying.
With the gauze ones, I just separate the different layers into the washer and they all come out clean.
Over time the cloth diapers will get stains on them, and a little bleach in the washer helps keep them clean and smelling fresh.

Although I do not use Clorox with every washer load of diapers, I do use a pre-wash spray on the stains that I think may not get clean otherwise.
