Hi all,

So the doc put me on Oxybutynin 5mg last week when I first saw him about my incontinence. So far all that's happened is I've had a few dizzy spells. I've had no other side effects but I've also not noticed any difference in the spasms and wetting problems I've had.
Should I have seen a difference by now? Does it work that quickly?

They all hit everyone differently. I've had some meds hit me a matter of minutes after taking it, and others that took a week of slowly kicking in.

What you're describing does sound about right for most incontinence meds though, so it could be. I'd recommend giving it a few more days before making any conclusions though.

When I tried Oxybutynin, it was like a miracle drug for about a month. I noticed a real difference in frequency and urgency, albeit with side effects. Then, the miracle part when away and the side effects became worse.

Thanks, I'll give it a couple more days and then see what if anything changes.

I've also been really tired lately and looking at the side effects this morning (I don't read the leaflets on meds normally) apparently lethargy is a side effect. Great :)

Oxybutinin gave me intense dry mouth, causing me to drink far more than I should have, and actually worsening my incontinence, Everybody reacts differently, so this may not happen to you. Good luck.

Spoke to the doc today.
I've been taken off the Oxybutynin to see if the effects improve. If they do then they'll see what else if anything I can go on.
