I just want to draw attention to the connection between talcum powder and ovarian cancer.
Just google it, and you will find quite many articles about it.
There has been lawsuits on this.
The powder wanders up into the female organs, and sometimes reaches the ovaries.
Ovarian cancer is often hidden long time before detected, so it is quite dangerous.

Just wanted to let my sisters know...

Lotions are a better alternative for us women.

Thank you, optimist. I'd heard about that a while back and stopped using it.

My wife is helping a girlfriend through ovarian cancer right now and she used baby powder for many years. I sure hope she makes it through this, we have lost too many young friends to cancer.

Does that carry over to ALL forms of these powders? Cornstarch etc?

@porkchop

No. It's just talc, and might be the perfume Johnson and Johnson use.

I believe it is the mineral structure in talc. Maybe a slight similarity to asbestus damages.
Cornstarch should be safe.Potato starch should also be safe.

Optimism, that's a plausible guess, but no studies have revealed what causes the link.

The best thing to do might be to not use any powder,
and stick to lotions...
