After all these years, I'm beginning to wonder if sleeping on my stomach is contributing to/facilitating my wetting episodes. I have always slept on my stomach exclusively. I wet the bed nightly in childhood. My night wetting returned in my mid-20s and it continues to this day. Has anyone else - guy or gal - had thoughts about this?

I can agree with that. I know I toss and turn most of the night and I find I wet more if I'm on my stomach than any other position. I don't know if it is gravety or what it is.

Hi, msshendo - I'm thinking that it has to be pressure on the bladder when it's between the weight of the body and the bed surface. That doesn't explain the massive wetting I experienced in the hospital/rehab facility while sleeping in a semi-upright position, but I think that was due to the 24/7 intervenous drips of one kind or another that I had going on. I had so many tubes in me at any given time that the veins in my right arm don't work anymore.

I really do believe that position does affect us. I can be in one position and nothing happens and I shift and whoom bam! Flood. I think it does have to do with pressure on the bladder or the way things inside are arranged depending on position. Sometimes we can pinch things inside depending on how we are positioned.

About twenty years ago, I heard about some environmentalists/vegans.. who sewed a tennisball in the back of their pyjamas jacket, as the risk of wetting was higher when sleeping on the back.
The thought was that sleeping on the side reduced the wetting incidents.
I do prefer a diaper rather than a tennisball in my back, but I also have experienced that my episodes of wetting when I lie on my side is not so often. As I can figure out, as much as you find out when it happened, I am usually lying on my back..

I think they actually called it a vegan diaper...

Nothing for the princess on the pea (pee?)
