Through my employment, I just got notice that the "Fetch 2" catheters have been recalled due to shaft breakage.

I don't know - I got a notice this morning in my email from the legal professionals association that I belong to. Guess I'll Google Fetch 2.

But on the subject:
That just sounds PAINFUL :shock: :shock:

Imagine going into the emergency room with 1/2 of a cath still inside.

<shudder>

Now I will have nightmares each time I use mine.

:shock: :)

NEVER MIND!!!

No worries (for urinary incontinence sufferers, at least). I Googled Fetch 2 and discovered it's an "aspiration catheter". I couldn't find anything for this type of cath on Wikipedia, but from the info provided on the recall, these things appear to suck out blood clots - YUCK, but I wish it had been there for me, lol.

Wow What a relief.

That has always been a small fear of mine, having a foley cath pop inside of me.

Catheters and I don't get on well. I've had 2 experiences with them in my lifetime (both in a hospital setting), and both were exceedingly painful and anxiety producing.

W,

Ahhhh...someone else has said EXACTLY how I feel about them (catheters). Hospital experiences date way back when retention was an issue, so I understand that and just had
to bear the pain and constant discomfort. I've tried them several times since only to find the pain issue and discomfort is ALWAYS there. If that wasn't enough, a complimentary
UTI or two was thrown into the mix. Call me a 'slow learner'... but..... Them's my thots on the cath.

Now, don't get me started on surgeons with sharp cutting instruments and probing devices........

You have a good 'take' on this, Wetters. Thanks.
