I seem to have a problem with the vent on the bag that I have to talk to my doctor or urologist about. It seems at night while my bladder drains into the bag there seems to be a vacuum forming in the system. I wake up uncomfortable and I find that the bag has urine in it, and has collapsed upon itself. I also find that the end of the condom catheter has collapsed on the end of my penis. Simply disconnecting the hose and letting air into the system fixes it for the night. Anyone else have this problem? Scott |

So have you resolved this problem? I've used catheters way too much for comfort, yet I've never had this particular problem. My guess would be it's a bad vent, and to try using a different bag. |

Never had that issue, I normally get as much air OUT of the bag before I go to bed, and I also loop the tubing at the bag entry, works well for me. I do get the collapse of the condom though, I think that is normal as when the air is pushed thru the tubing, it has no other option but to vacuum in on itself. Talk to your Uro and see what he has to say, doubt he's ever used one at night though!  Puffy

I have the issue of condom catheter collapsing on the penis and is getting very red looking as I think I might have to discontinue use for awhile and go rotate perhaps between the catheter and diapers. I joined the forum in hopes someone had solution for long term use of condom catheters without the head of the penis turning reddish or is it a normal problem one lives with? |
