At the hospital today to see the urologist. Told him where I was up to and that I had been poorly since being on the 6 week antibiotic course. Also about the brown red stuff coming out of you no where. He said suprapubic I said when and he said very urgent how about in 2 weeks time. I almost fell out of the wheelchair.
So there we go two weeks tomorrow the 10th of March I am having it done under General anaesthetic. I am at the end now of the antibiotics he says if I get ill again before the 10th get some more from the doctor of if really ill like on Christmas Day to come to the hospital.

I will post again after I have had it all done and will keep you updated as to how it all goes.

Thanks

4wheeldave.

Good! I'm glad he put a rush on it and I hope the suprapubic works out well for you.

Really pleased you're not being subjected to the waiting times you feared. I really hope this helps you. Are your infections generally clearing up? It would be got to be in good health for surgery!

I hope this works out well for you, Dave!! I wish you the best of luck!! Please keep us posted. I understand this is removable/able to be discontinued should you decide not to use it anymore for whatever reason.......l

Yes, the supra-pubic can just be removed if it causes problems. The only snag is that after several months... or years.... the hole doesn't seal very quickly and leaks from the unused hole carry on for some time after the removal.

Seriously, though, it is a good choice fro drainage and should be infection free.

Thanks for that. Just can't wait to get it over with. I had my last antibiotic on Monday after 6 weeks of use so am nervous now in case I get ill again.
I was just in shock when he said he would do it in 2 weeks time. It was like I was going private and paying not like the NHS at all. I guess that means how serious my current situation is.

Will let you all know how it goes.
