Hey y'all.. i made a quick check of XP Medical to see what extended wear would be the best bargain..and i noticed something new on Gary's site. Its called the delta-form. It is made by abena, and from what i read, it is very similar to the X-Plus, but lacks the back waistband, and is probably sligtly less absorbent. But, they are less expensive. 72 dollars for a case of 60. They look like they have the absorbency of the extra, and the case size is smaller, but they look like a good bargain. http://www.xpmedical.com/deltaform.html I didn't see a place to order samples..maybe he will add one soon..

I have seen this one on the internet but not at a good price for me. What you posted here, $75 for 60 isn't bad. I may have to look at it.

If anyone has ever used these or tried them please let us know your thoughts and concerns.

My main preference with disposables has been in keeping with Attends, primarily with the breathable. I have also used their extended wear, and still use them on occasion. I have been very satisfied with the comfort, and have not experienced much in the way of leaks like I did with the old Attends. I pay $62.00 for 96 (insurance coverage) I can get by with a change at around lunch time, and again around dinner time. The extended wear are reserved for travel or out of town overnight.

I have found the Abena x-plus to be great, but a little too much bulk in daytime clothes, and for me staying in a wet diaper any longer than half a day causes other issues such as rashes etc.

As long as I live with this, I'm sure that I will be open to trying other brands, but right now I find satisfaction with the Attends brand. Some have complained about the chafing with the breathables but I have not had issues with that.

Thanks for pointing out the Delta-Form.

I use Abena Supers, usually with an Abena Normal booster, during the day and change every five hours.

But I go through periods where I have trouble retaining, then flooding, so I have to use Abena X-Plus, often with an Abena Maxi booster. I also use this combo if I won't be able to change conveniently. Having to go to super absorbency brings home all the reasons to hate diapers. They are bulky and less comfortable, and after 8-10 hours they are really, really wet, heavy, saggy and smelly.

I wonder if the absence of the elastic waist on the Delta-Form would make them sag even more. But I'll try a package.

Speaking of Abri-form. I switched from Supers to Extras as my "thinner" diaper... the price is relatively the same and the extra capacity is nice. I'm still using Bambinos primarily for work and home... these things are a wonderful value, there are many times where I can get through the whole day with just two.
