Took the first step

Mon Jul 21, 2014 10:39 am

I know I have commented in some posts about the fact that I was going to see a new family doctor and was going to bring up the issue of my incon. Well, that happened this past Saturday. It was a very professional conversation and the first step taken was to ensure there is not a UTI involved. I think I would know if that were the case and if I had a UTI for several years now something much worse would have transpired by now. But, it is the first step in this long process of finding answers.

Congratulations on your first step to answers!

I have not followed through with my doctor yet to get more answers. He seemed to just accept my OAB, but felt bad for me wearing "pads". When i have time I will hopefully bring it up again.

Well, I went to the doctor and he set me up with an appointment to see a urologist in two weeks.

I recently had a health care check at local surgery, with the nurse practioner, which resulted in having blood tests done. I think they were looking for heart disease, diabetes and kidney problems. I mentioned that I was having bladder problems, so not too sure what will occur next. I have to return to the surgery next week, to get the results of the blood test. Would this reveal why I am having bladder leakage? Have I done the correct thing, by mentioning these issues to the nurse practioner?

Good show, Msshendo! Taking that first step was difficult for me, but I am very glad that I did.

Good luck.

Wow, I realized looking at this that this post is over a year old now. And the funny thing is nothing came of it. It seems to have been forgotten in the long list of other higher priority medical issues. Maybe we will get back to it someday.

Aurora, I think you did a good thing by bringing it up. At least (hopefully) there will be some follow through and you may get to an answer.
